VENTNOR – Winning the doubles and singles row events and placing second in the surf dash led to Ventnor winning the 2019 Bill Howarth Women’s Lifeguard Invitational with more than twice as many points as any competitor.

    Robert (Deano/Bob/Bobby) Dean, age 61, passed away at Shore Medical Center on August 10, 2019. Born at Shore Memorial Hospital, Somers Point, on July 2, 1958, Deano grew up in Ocean City, attended St. Augustine School and Ocean City High School. He moved to Dana Point, CA with his parents, and graduated from Dana Point High School. Deano is survived by his daughter, Carly Dean, his partner, Ruth Beal, his siblings Sheila (Robert Schoelkopf) and Michael Dean (Hoang), his nieces and nephews Joshua Dean (Krystle), Tori Dean (Collin Dennis), and Bill Dean. He was preceded in death by his brother John P. Dean III and his parents John P. Dean, Jr. and Marie Baumgartner Dean, all formerly of Ocean City.
