AtlantiCare offers first aid training for mental health for young people

GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP — Half of all mental health disorders present by age 14, according to information presented during training Friday, Nov. 1, at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Galloway Township.

About 25 school staff, social workers and many more took a Youth Mental Health First Aid certification training to learn how to respond to and best help youth with mental health challenges. AtlantiCare Behavioral Health and AtlantiCare’s Healthy Schools, Healthy Children program offered the training.
