OCEAN CITY — A proposed $1.6 billion wind farm 15 miles off Atlantic and Cape May counties supplied by Ørsted, the Danish company and wind energy pioneer, would power 500,000 homes and bring more than 1,000 jobs to the area.

Representatives from Ørsted conducted a meeting Feb. 8 at Ocean City Tabernacle, where they explained the project and its proposed effect on the region. The company previously held a meeting in August at the Howard Stainton Senior Center, where representatives unveiled their plans.
