OCEAN CITY — The largest wind farm in the country is slated to be built off the southern New Jersey coast, with transmission cables that may run through or past Ocean City to the former B.L. England coal-fired generating plant in Beesleys Point.

Representatives from Ørsted, the Danish company and wind energy pioneer, held a meeting Aug. 27 at the Howard S. Stainton Senior Center about Ocean Wind, New Jersey’s first offshore wind farm.
