Stories and photos in the Ocean City Sentinel and its sister newspapers, the Cape May Star and Wave, Upper Township Sentinel and The Sentinel of Somers Point, Linwood and Northfield, can now be found on the newspapers’ new website, ocnjsentinel.com.

“Because of the breaking news nature of what is taking place amid the COVID-19 pandemic, it can be hard for weekly newspapers like ours to be as up to date as we like,” Publisher David Nahan said this week. “We are starting this website to work in tandem with our print newspapers to be an additional resource for readers about their local communities and the stories that affect them. Our prime focus remains the print newspapers, but as news come up about this pandemic and how it is hitting our communities, our counties and our state, we want to get that out quickly.

“We also are adding our local business advertisers to the site as well to give them extra exposure during this time and to connect them to their clients, including those who aren’t venturing out because of the restrictions in place,” he added.

There is no pay wall on the site. Readers can access ocnjsentinel.com for free.

There are more plans in the works to develop this site.

“We are by no means finished with this website, but we wanted to get this up for all of our newspapers quickly because of the situation at hand,” Nahan said. “We want to keep our readers informed when there is breaking and/or important news to report.”
