SOMERS POINT — After what leaders are calling a successful reorganizational term, the Somers Point Democratic Club held an election in December and now has new leadership.

Dan Myers, an active community member and business owner who ran unsuccessfully for a City Council seat in November, was elected president. Levi Fox, Somers Point’s Democratic Municipal chairman who grew up in and has been involved with Somers Point all his life, was elected vice president. Alice Myers, a newly elected school board member, is secretary, and Kathleen Hilbert will remain as treasurer.

The club said it plans to continue moving forward with its philanthropic endeavors in the community as well as expand the club’s political potential and direction. Several new committees have been established to facilitate the club’s forward momentum: Voter Registration, headed by Myers;  Fundraising, led by Melville, who has expertise in this field through working with Gilda’s Club; and Elections Committee, led by Fox.

In addition, Myers announced that he will run again for City Council this year.
