Suasion Communications Group president joins N.J. tourism board

SOMERS POINT — Susan Adelizzi-Schmidt, president of the award-winning, New Jersey-based agency Suasion Communications Group, was recently appointed to New Jersey Tourism Industry Association (NJTIA) board of directors.

“We’re proud to have Susan join our team of like-minded professionals, and are looking forward to the ideas and experience she’ll be bringing to the board,” said Adam Perle, president of the NJTIA board of directors.

NJTIA advocates for enhanced government support for tourism in the state by educating elected and appointed officials about the industry, its economic benefits to the state and the role that those employed by and for the industry add to the quality of life for every citizen of New Jersey.

“I am honored to join the NJTIA board and look forward to advocating for New Jersey’s vibrant tourism industry,” Adelizzi-Schmidt said.

Led by Adelizzi-Schmidt, Suasion’s team of creative professionals execute successful branding, public relations, digital and marketing campaigns for its clients.

Earlier this year, Suasion was awarded a 2019 Bulldog PR (industry) Award, as well as a 2018 Tourism Excellence Award from the NJTIA.

Additional accolades recognizing Suasion’s industry contributions include: NJTIA Tourism Excellence Awards for Public Relations/Advertising and Website Design in 2019, 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2011, 2010 and 2009; Gold & Silver HSMAI Adrian Awards in 2015; a Gold HSMAI Adrian Award in 2014; a Silver HSMAI Adrian Award in 2011; a Bronze HSMAI Adrian Award in 2009; a PR Daily Media Relations Award in 2017; PR Daily Awards in 2018, 2017 and 2016; and two PR Daily Awards in 2013.

Adelizzi-Schmidt has also been recognized with several awards and accolades for individual achievement. 

In 2018 she was awarded a FOLIO: Top Women in Media Award, which recognizes the women trailblazers, leaders, advocates and mentors of the industry. 

She is also a recipient of the 2015 Philadelphia Business Journal’s South Jersey Entrepreneur of the Year Award. In 2014, she was selected for the Stockton University’s School of Graduate Studies Professional Achievement Award. 

Currently, Adelizzi-Schmidt is a doctoral candidate (organizational leadership) at Stockton University in Galloway Township, where she also completed her master’s degree in business administration. 

She holds a bachelor’s degree in communications and English from Arcadia University in Glenside, Pa. She is also a 2017 graduate of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Initiative.

In addition to her professional career as an entrepreneur, she also serves as a Stockton University School of Business adjunct professor. 

She also shares her business knowledge at well-received seminars and workshops that take place regularly at schools, universities, industry associations and business organizations.

Adelizzi-Schmidt serves on the Downtown New Jersey board of directors and is a member and mentor in Stockton University Women’s Leadership Council. Additionally, she chaired the Upper Township Economic Development Advisory Commission and is immediate past chairwoman of the Cape May County Women’s Commission; she also serves as an active member of the Somers Point Business Association, Southern New Jersey Chamber of Commerce, Cape May County Chamber of Commerce, Wildwood Chamber of Commerce, Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce and she serves as an Atlantic Cape Community College Communication Advisory Board member.
