OCEAN CITY – The Ocean City High School boys and girls swim team won their season-opening meets against Atlantic City Dec. 3.
The girls won, 100-70.
Red Raider Katie Barlow took the opening 200 meter individual medley in a time of 2:09.81.
Teammate Claudia Scherbin won the 50 and 100 freestyle.
Scherbin’s time in the 50 was 28.21 seconds and 1:01.92 in the 100-meter race.
Fellow Red Raider Emily Myers won the 100 butterfly in 1:14.48.
Alex Antonov, Brooke Powell, Lilly Teofanova and Scherbin combined to win the 200 freestyle relay in 1:44.51.
Barlow, Teofanova, Olivia Scherbin and Antonov teamed up ton win the 400 freestyle relay in 4:19.22.
The Ocean City boys won, 127-43, taking first place in every event.
In the opening 200-meter medley relay, Ethan McCarron, Dolan Grisbaum, Pat Armstrong and Steve Gooden won in a time of 1:58.78.
Nick Bianchi won the 200 freestyle in 2:14.4 and Armstrong took the 200 individual medley in 2:29.2.
Jackson Agenellini won the 50 freestyle in 27.26 seconds.
Max Carter won the 100 butterfly in 1:05.63 and Gooden took the 100 freestyle in 55.91 seconds.
Grisbaum won the 400 freestyle in 4:36.66.
Gooden, Armstrong, McCarron and Grisbaum teamed up to win the 200 freestyle relay.
Gooden followed that with a win in the 100 backstroke in 1:09.65 and McCarron won the 100 breaststroke in 1:14.64.
Carter, Matthew Woodside, Bianchi and Joe Ardelean closed out the meet by winning the 400 freestyle relay in 4:11.73.
The Ocean City boys and girls were hosting Woodstown Tuesday afternoon after the Sentinel sports section went to press. At 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, they host Vineland at the Ocean City Aquatic and Fitness Center inside the Ocean City Community Center at 1735 Simpson Ave.
