Grau, Andrew Terrence “Terry”, 76, of Somers Point. Passed away on August 19, 2019. Terry was preceded in death by his parents, Frank J. Grau and Flora Strassner Grau, as well as a brother, Francis. He is survived by his only child, Tracey Dixon of Lynchburg, Virginia and her son, Daniel Weston Dixon Jr., as well as 7 loving siblings and their families: Frank (Mary), Al (Barbara), Tom (Honey), Harry (Michele), Florann (Joe) Sordillo, Mary Neukam, and Carol (Rick) Hillegas. Proudly born and raised in Maryland, Terry graduated the Little Flower Parish School in 1957, followed by Calvert Hall College in 1961, and the University of Baltimore, where he earned a BS in Finance in 1971. He became a Chartered Life Underwriter in 1975 and provided leadership at several prestigious Managing General Underwriting Firms in Philadelphia and NJ. In 1999, Terry formed his own MGU called Grau & Associates in OC, NJ with such noteworthy clients as McCormick Spice, Ocean City, NJ and the Las Vegas Police Dept. Terry served in the US Army Reserve from 1963-1969 and later in life, the Somers Point AMVETS Post 911 became family, where he served as Captain of the Elite Honor Guard and a member of Somers Point American Legion Post 352. Terry raised his family in Cherry Hill, NJ and then bought a shore home in OC, NJ. After his retirement in 2011, he moved to Somers Point. He enjoyed open water diving, golfing, and sport fishing. His civic activities included serving as Commodore of the Riverboat Club, Treasurer of Masonic Lodge #171, President of the Ocean City Exchange Club, OC Community Emergency Response Team, Crescent Shriner, and 1st Vice Commander AMVETS Post 911. A memorial service for Terry will take place on Thursday, Sept. 5th at 11:00am at The Godfrey Funeral Home, 4008 English Creek Ave., Egg Harbor Township, followed by a reception at the Somers Point American Legion.
