Charles C. Wright, 81, of Fort Myers, FL, previously from Wright’s Mill and Ocean View, NJ, passed away on May 13, 2019.
Mr. Wright was born on April 24, 1938, to the late Charles Augustus Wright and Della Doughty Wright.
Charles graduated from Glassboro High School, and then served in the Army National Guard. He was a life member of the Elks, Clayton, NJ #2132, and after retirement, he was a member of the Moose Fort Myers Beach Lodge #964. Charles was a member of Cape Coral, FL, United Methodist Church, as well as Cape Coral, FL Century 21 Homeowner’s and Social and Sports Club. He loved his Parkinson Aquacise class with “Philly” at Lee Health Community Center.
Prior to his retirement, Charles was employed as a salesman, and he was also a self-taught, skilled handyman – he could fix anything. His compassion for others led him to serve as a missionary in Smolensk, Russia, where he built and renovated schools and orphanages on seven separate occasions.
Charles was very interested in travel, which he shared with his family, who he loved dearly. He loved to cruise, and “putz” around the house.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Norma Jane Morris Wright of Fort Myers, two children, Charles Christopher Wright, Jr. (Susan), of Seaville, NJ, and Joel Patrick Wright, of Naples, Fl. He is also survived by his dear sister, Florence L. Kerr, of Ocean View, NJ, and four grandchildren, Mason, Rachel, Saman- tha, and Avery.
Charles’ remains will be interred with his mother and dad at Aura Cemetery, Aura, NJ. In consideration of immediate family, private services will be held.
