John Patrick Dean, III, age 70, passed away at Shore Medical Center on Monday, July 29, 2019.
Born in Corning, NY, he grew up in Ocean City, attended St. Augustine’s School, and graduated from Ocean City High School- Class of 1967. He attended Florida Keys Community College and Stockton College, with studies in finance.
John was a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served in the U. S. Navy from 1968 to 1974 as an Operational Specialist on the USS America and USS Mount Whitney. He was a life-member of VFW Post 6650, Ocean City, where he served as a Trustee. John had a love for sailing and was owner/captain of Buccaneer Yacht Charters. His career path later took him into real estate and he worked as a sales associate at various offices in Ocean City. John currently worked as a Sales Agent at Goldcoast Sotheby’s International Realty.
John had many friends and was highly regarded as a kind and gentle person. He will be missed by many.
Memorial services will be held in the fall, when his family can all gather in Ocean City. His remains will go back to the one place he loved the most- The Sea.
John was loved by his family and he spent time with all, both in California and New Jersey. Survivors include: Sheila Dean (Robert Schoelkopf), Michael Dean (Hoang), Robert Dean, nieces and nephews- Joshua Dean (Krystle), Carly Dean, Tori Dean (Collin Dennis), and Bill Dean. Great-nieces and nephew- Addisyn, Julianna Marie and Jameson John “JJ” Dean.
John was preceded in death by his parents John P. Dean, Jr. and Marie Baumgartner Dean, both formerly from Ocean City.
