Halloween happenings in Cape May to raise spirits this season

CAPE MAY — Seaside spirits stir up ghostly fun in Victorian Cape May during Halloween Happenings, sponsored by the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities (MAC), from Friday, Oct. 9 through Saturday, Oct. 31. Get into the “spirit” this season with three weeks of Halloween-themed tours and events including ghost trolley tours, spooky tours of Cape May’s original haunted house, the 1879 Emlen Physick Estate, psychic teas, murder mystery dinners, paranormal experiences with ghost investigator and medium Craig McManus, and much more.

Cape May offers plenty of opportunities for family fun

CAPE MAY — Young buccaneers and little maidens are invited to Princesses & Pirates Luncheons at the Emlen Physick Estate, 1048 Washington St. in Cape Cape May, where youngsters will enjoy lunch along with princess dress-up and etiquette tips for the girls, and pirate gear, lessons in pirate walking and balloon swords for the boys. Everyone will enjoy a story, too. Admission is $25 for adults and $15 for children (ages 3-12), which includes lunch. Event is limited to 20 children so reserve early. 11:30 a.m. Fridays, Aug. 14 and Aug. 21.

Haunted happenings this summer at Historic Cold Spring Village

COLD SPRING — On Tuesdays and Thursdays through the end of August, visitors can enjoy guided evening ghost walks throughout the grounds of Historic Cold Spring Village and learn about the museum’s history of hauntings. And for those interested in a more hands-on haunted experience, the village is hosting two evenings of paranormal research this summer.

Baby Parade a moving spectacle enjoyed by children, adults

OCEAN CITY — Parades are often enjoyed most by the youngest spectators. Glancing up at the floats with wonder and awe, and reveling in the dazzling colors of the spectacle and in the excitement that a parade brings, many children hope to be in a parade of their own one day. Ocean City not only gives young children that opportunity, but also dedicates an entire parade to them with the annual Baby Parade.
