AVALON — Cape Regional Foundation and Auxiliary’s 7 Mile Island Home and Health Show blends two areas that touch the lives of everyone — homes and health. This unique destination event on 7 Mile Island provides complimentary health screenings, education for home and health, and inspiration for healthy lifestyles, as well as beautiful and creative interior and exterior living spaces. This year’s event will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, at the Avalon Elementary School

One of the event’s leading features is “The Doctor Is In.” When the doors open at 9 a.m., take this exclusive opportunity to speak face to face with physicians, nurses and clinical professionals regarding their medical specialty and services and also hear about how Cape Regional Health System has greatly expanded its presence and services throughout the county. In addition, health screenings are available at no cost to attendees. Screenings for cholesterol, blood sugar, peripheral artery disease and skin cancer are a few of the available tests that guests can choose to have performed in a relaxed environment.

The Home and Health Show provides the opportunity to meet and speak with local professionals who provide services for the interior and exterior of your home. From architects and contractors to interior designers and service companies, the show is the perfect venue to gather ideas, have questions answered and schedule an appointment for a consultation.

For the convenience of its guests, the Home & Health Café will have breakfast items and coffee available for purchase beginning at 9 a.m. and lunch selections from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

All proceeds from the 7 Mile Island Home & Health Show will benefit The Brodesser Cancer Center at Cape Regional Medical Center.
