It is difficult to shake the feeling that much of the Ocean City electorate believes the May 13 election for mayor and city council is largely a foregone conclusion.

How else to explain that deafening silence surrounding the election between incumbent Mayor Jay Gillian and challenger Ed Price, and the at-large council race to fill three seats? The council race is contested by incumbents Michael Allegretto and Keith Hartzell and challengers Eric Sauder, Mike Hyson and Pete Madden.
