OCEAN CITY — A new Ocean City Tabernacle is taking shape early March 1957, with spacious auditorium seating for 1,200 as part of a $250,000 improvement project, the Ocean City Sentinel-Ledger reported April 25, 1957.

The old structure was demolished in two days in December 1956 and work began at once to have a new building ready for the summer.
