OCEAN CITY – Journalists covering the 1964 Democratic National Convention in Atlantic City stayed in Ocean City, the Ocean City Sentinel-ledger reported Aug. 18, 1964.

Two midtown motels, the Coral Sands at Ninth Street and Atlantic Avenue and the Sifting Sands at Ninth Street and Ocean Avenue became headquarters to foreign reporters who covered the convention.
