For those of us whose culinary skills involve taking a frozen dinner from the freezer and heating it in a microwave oven, some tips on cooking a turkey may be in order to keep us from poisoning our guests on Thanksgiving. 

For this writer, if left to cook a Thanksgiving dinner, I would buy Oscar Meyer turkey lunch meat that I could disguise as a freshly cooked bird and warm it in the microwave and serve it in a river of gravy. I fear if forced to cook a real turkey, I would accidently serve stuffing whose commanding feature was bacteria.
