To the Editor:

I enjoyed the article in the Sentinel dated Aug. 7 regarding the construction of the southern extension of the Garden State Parkway. Reading it made me proud to think that my father, Arthur Pagnam, as a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 825, was instrumental in the parkway’s completion. My father’s legacy and that of many of my family members lives on in many roads and bridges in the state, especially in south Jersey. My husband was one of the engineers on the Longport-Ocean City bridge and the Rt. 52 causeway was his last contribution to his profession.
