To the Editor:

An as Ocean City resident and homeowner I was alarmed by two recent news items. The first, which made headlines nationally, was that Ocean City properties were losing value faster than properties on any other coastal community from Maine to Florida due to the flooding here. The second story was that the Ocean City government was pursuing an official policy of allowing the city to be covered in concrete, thereby making flooding and water quality far worse, and this despite the fact that the city had a longstanding ordinance in place prohibiting cementing drainage borders along curbs and sidewalks, and that this ordinance was almost universally disregarded both by developers and by the administration itself.
