LINWOOD – Mainland Regional’s softball team has shaken off a rough start of the season and is now one of the hottest teams in South Jersey, beating a previously undefeated squad and vanquishing a big rival over the past week.

Sandwiched around a loss to Triton, Mainland beat previously undefeated St. Joseph (Hammonton) 2-0 last week and then Cape-Atlantic League National Division rival Ocean City 7-2 in the annual game to support cancer victims at Birch Grove Park Thursday, May 2.
