Ocean City High School soccer players Hope Slimmer, left, and Summer Reimet, right, had a winning season with Players Development Academy (PDA) this spring and summer. Their team went undefeated in the Northeast NPL League, winning the Northeast Championship in Boston several weeks ago. They defeated FC Boston in the semifinal and then East Meadow, N.Y., for the championship. That win took them to Colorado this past week to compete in the national finals.  They won their pool, playing teams from Las Vegas, Minnesota and Louisiana, advancing to the semifinals.  Reimet contributed 5 goals and an assist as the team’s leading scorer. Slimmer, the starting center midfielder, was dominant in possession and distribution, which propelled the offensive scoring. PDA fell short in the semifinal match against Southshore FC from Massachusetts; they were scored upon in the final 3 minutes of the match.  PDA is proudly a two-time NPL National Semifinalist in 2018 and 2019. Slimmer and Reimet are pictured after their regional championship.
